About us
We rebuilt our academy the way we teach you to rebuild your craft.
UpskillCamp began as a coding bootcamp: twelve weeks, full-stack, live classes, and an accountability culture intense enough that students joked about it — the WhatsApp group that noticed when you went quiet, the instructor who called before you could quit. People finished. That part worked.
Then the ground shifted. Machines started writing most of the code, and we faced the question every teaching institution should be forced to answer in public:is what we teach still the job? The honest answer was no — not because the fundamentals stopped mattering, but because the job had moved up a level, to judgment, systems, and directing the machines. Teaching the 2019 workflow with a chatbot bolted on would have been malpractice.
So we did what we now teach: we kept what survived contact with reality — the accountability, the mentorship, the shipping discipline — and redesigned everything else. One flagship program for the new craft. An honest entry ramp. Specializations with real depth. A version for whole teams. The academy you’re reading about is our own rebuild diff.
We’re practicing engineers based in India, teaching worldwide. We run small cohorts on purpose, price honestly on purpose, and put “who this is NOT for” on every course page on purpose. If that sounds like your kind of place, we’d like to meet you.

What we believe
Six beliefs, printed where we have to live up to them.
Understanding is leverage.
You can’t supervise what you don’t understand. Fundamentals aren’t nostalgia — they’re what makes AI leverage usable. This was true when we taught our first cohort, and it’s more true now.
Shipping beats watching.
Nobody becomes an engineer by viewing one. Every week here ends with something built, reviewed, and reflected on. Progress is a fact, not a feeling.
Accountability is care.
Chasing you when you go quiet isn’t surveillance — it’s the whole reason people finish. The 48-hour rule has been our culture since the WhatsApp-group days, and it stays.
Honesty over hype.
No fake discounts. No job guarantees we can’t control. No “not for you” hidden in fine print — it’s printed on every course page, in large type.
Small is a feature.
Twenty-four seats, pods of six, mentors who know your name and your codebase. We grow by running more cohorts, never bigger ones.
The craft is alive.
AI didn’t kill software engineering; it promoted it. Teaching the promoted version — judgment, systems, taste, direction — is the most optimistic work we know.
The mentors
Practicing engineers, or we don’t hire them.
Every mentor ships software with AI in the loop at a real job — senior engineers, staff engineers, SREs with pagers. Mentor bios are published with each cohort announcement, so you know exactly who reviews your work before you commit.
Meet us properly
The best introduction is a cohort.
